Raheem Sterling thinks he’s ‘cursed’ as Manchester City ace has another goal ruled out in Chelsea win

RAHEEM STERLING joked that he is “cursed” after having another goal ruled out via VAR.

The England international, 24, thought he had wrapped up the points with a third as Manchester City beat Chelsea.

But he has adjudged to have strayed marginally offside after the goal was checked.

Sterling tweeted a picture of his offside with the caption: “Happy to improve my VAR overruled goals record today again damn this thing gonna kill me bro #cursed”.

Sterling had dramatic late winner ruled out via VAR in City’s spectacular 4-4 draw with Tottenham.

And he suffered the same fate in last year’s Champions League quarter-final heartbreak against the same opponents, with Sergio Aguero adjudged to be offside in the build-up.

Fortunately for City, Sterling’s strike was not needed today as Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez cancelled out N’Golo Kante’s opener.

After seeing his side move into third, Pep Guardiola told the BBC: “Chelsea are an incredible team. We knew it, but we beat them.

“It was a typical high-level game. Our back four played so good today. In the most difficult period of the game, we scored on the counter.

“We created enough chances to score more goals.”

Aguero limped off with a groin injury in what could be a huge blow for the Citizens.

Guardiola added: “Hopefully we’ll know tomorrow, but the first indication is not good. A muscular injury.”
