Bale misses pass and Real Madrid pal Mariano makes hilarious golf swing gesture after ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid’ flag furore

REAL MADRID star Mariano ruthlessly poked fun of Gareth Bale for his “Wales. Golf. Madrid.” flag stunt after the winger misplaced an easy pass in training.

The former Tottenham winger, 30, kicked up a stink midweek and angered Los Blancos fans by hinting Real Madrid were behind Wales and golf on his list of priorities.

Bale had just helped Wales secure their spot at Euro 2020 with a 2-0 win over Hungary.

As his year of unrest at the club under Zinedine Zidane rages on, Bale then held up a Welsh flag reading: “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.”

And Mariano wasn’t going to let Bale, nicknamed The Golfer at the Bernabeu, forget it after the Welshman misplaced an easy pass in training.

After Bale ruined the rondo, Mariano looked him square in the eye and imitated a golf swing, as if it say “stick to golf, pal”.

Reports in Spain had claimed Zinedine Zidane was considering forcing Bale to train alone after the gaffe.

But the latest footage suggests he’s been allowed to keep his spot in the first-team squad, at least for now.

During the international break, Wales fans came up with the witty “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order”, song.

Bale – who earns a reported £650,000-a-week at Real – gave Wales fans the thumbs-up after they sung it against Azerbaijan.

He later posed with the flag that’s got the whole of Madrid talking.

While Wales fans found it hilarious, El Chiringuito TV host Josep Pedrerol demanded president Florentino Perez sack Bale over the stunt.

Pedrerol said: “The chant from the Welsh, making fun of the predicament between the player and Real Madrid… ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid.’

“And he is laughing, dancing and jumping around. Florentino [Perez] get rid of him.”
