Pasta is world-famous as an Italian dish.
But that seemed lost on 22-year-old Richarlison as he gave the nosh his full backing.
Supporters found the whole incident bemusing to say the least.
One wrote: “Pasta’s Italian, Richy.”
Another said: “If Richie says it’s English, it’s English.”
One asked: “What’s your favourite Chinese food? Pie and chips for me, personally.”
Another noted: “My fave Indian food is pizza personally.”
Richarlison is already a fan favourite at Goodison Park, 18 months after joining from Watford in a deal which could hit £50million.
He scored 14 goals in his first season on Merseyside and has found the back of the net five times so far this term.
Richarlison has also become a regular with Brazil, and has earned an incredible 19 caps since making his debut in September last year.
But things aren’t going too well for new Toffees teammate Moise Kean, who only joined the club last summer from Juventus.
He is yet to score in 11 games and was disciplined for breaching club regulations before the 2-1 win over Southampton.
Kean, 19, is now being urged to return to Italy by his own father.
And Everton fans are sure to be enraged after discovering they could have signed wonderkid Erling Haaland instead for just £3.5m two years ago.
The RB Salzburg star is now one of Europe’s top talents after scoring 26 times this season.
SunSport also understands the Toffees are ready to spend £12m on Nottingham Forest youngster Matty Cash.
And there could yet be a new arrival in midfield following Andre Gomes’ horror injury.
