What is Jose Mourinho’s net worth, what is his Tottenham salary, and when was he Man Utd boss?

JOSE MOURINHO has been named as the new Tottenham manager, 11 months after getting the sack at Manchester United.

The 56-year-old picked a huge £24m compensation payments following his axing at Old Trafford, despite guiding the Red Devils to their worst league start in 28 years.

And now the Portuguese coach is set for another massive addition to his bank balance – but will have to set for second best in the highest-paid Premier League managers’ table.

What is Jose Mourinho’s net worth?

Jose Mourinho is estimated to be worth £40million ($51.6m), according to Spears.

This figure, which is largely due to his status as one of the most successful football managers in the world, is expected to increase once again after signing with Tottenham.

Jose also has a remarkable spread of commercial deals including with the likes of Hublot watches, Jaguar, Heineken, Adidas, Atlantis hotels, Lipton Tea and EA Sports.

The controversial coach also earns substantial funds for work as a TV pundit, including receiving £425,000-a-day for four appearances at the World Cup.

How much will he be paid at Tottenham?

Mourinho is set to pocket a massive £15m a year after signing a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.

That is double what Mauricio Pochettino was taking home – although the Argentine will be able to drown his sorrows in a hefty compensation payout, worth around £12.5m.

The fee for Mourinho’s services works out about £288,000 a week, which is £58k less than his Man United salary.

But the Portuguese coach will still be unable to gain top spot in the highest-paid Premier League managers’ chart.

He replaces Pochettino at number two, only behind Pep Guardiola – who rakes in between £15m and £20m while Manchester City look to tie him down to a new deal.

When was he Man Utd and Chelsea boss?

Jose first joined Chelsea in June 2004 after two years with Porto and they won the first of his three Premier League titles with the club in his maiden season.

Chelsea retained the league the following year and they also won an FA Cup and two League Cups before he departed for Inter Milan in 2007.

Jose rejoined the club in 2013 and added his third Premier League and a third League Cup before he was sacked in December 2015.

In 157 matches in SW6, the Portuguese only lost nine matches.

Just six months after leaving Stamford Bridge for a second time, Mourinho put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Manchester United.

He won the Community Shield in his first competitive match before going onto claim the League Cup trophy in February of that season – becoming the first United boss to win a major title in their debut campaign.

The Europa League followed just three months later in an incredible first year for the Portuguese coach.

His second season saw a Round of 16 exit in the Champions League to Sevilla before losing in the FA Cup final to Chelsea.

Although the Red Devils finished second that year, they were 19 points off the champions Man City.

And his final season at Old Trafford was all downhill as he endured the club’s worst league start in 28 years before being booted out in December 2018 and replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
