Zidane ‘to make Bale train alone’ at Real Madrid after ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid’ flag enrages Spanish fans

ZINEDINE ZIDANE is set to make Gareth Bale train alone at Real Madrid after his “Wales. Golf. Madrid” flag stunt enraged Spanish fans, according to reports.

The Los Blancos star, 30, angered supporters after holding up a fan’s flag reading “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order”, after his nation sealed their spot at Euro 2020.

The Welshman has been frozen out by Zidane after months of arguments, with the player’s agent calling the boss “a disgrace” for his treatment of Bale.

Former Tottenham star Bale has picked up the nickname “The Golfer” at Real Madrid for his love of the sport – which is widely seen as an insult to the player.

But Bale is clearly running with the joke after revealing earlier this summer he will see out the remainder of his contract – which runs until June 2022 – despite not making the team.

The winger did make seven appearances earlier this season – but only because of a crippling injury crisis at the club.

With the likes of Eden Hazard now fit and youngster Rodrygo rapidly finding his feet, Bale appears to have no future at the club.

During the international break, Wales fans came up with the witty “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order”, song – a play on the famous “Utd, Kids, Wife. In that order,” often seen at Old Trafford.

Bale – who earns a reported £650,000-a-week at Real – gave Wales fans the thumbs-up after they sung it against Azerbaijan.

Then he even held up the flag after the 2-0 win over Hungary – thanks to an Aaron Ramsey double.

While Welsh fans loved the joke, Madrid fans didn’t react in the same way – and are absolutely furious at their £86million signing’s attitude.

El Chiringuito TV host Josep Pedrerol even demanded president Florentino Perez sack Bale over the stunt.

Pedrerol said: “The chant from the Welsh, making fun of the predicament between the player and Real Madrid… ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid.’

“And he is laughing, dancing and jumping around. Florentino [Perez] get rid of him.”

Now, Zidane is considering dropping Bale from the first-team squad entirely and forcing him to train alone, according to Spanish outlet AS.

The Welsh winger has not played for Madrid in nearly two months after tearing his calf muscle on international duty in October.

And he risked the wrath of Real chiefs by heading off on international duty – and playing both of Wales matches.
