One friend, posting on the account gurdasgold93, filmed Hackney-born fighter Okolie sat at a table with a gun in front of him.

The weapon was owned by a security guard employed to look after the boxer and his friends after they enjoyed a spending spree in jewellery shops, Sun Sport understands.

Okolie, seen in the clip enjoying some music with his hands in the air, had never been on a night out in LA and wanted to ensure his safety with plenty of expensive items on show.

Various other objects are seen on the table, including drinks, playing cards and someone’s wallet.

It is legal to possess firearms in California with a specific license required for the “open carry” of guns in such areas.

Boxing fans may remember how Anthony Joshua has promoted the Londoner’s fledgling career.

Okolie, also signed to promoter Matchroom, has previously sparred with AJ and fought on the undercard of his fight with Carlos Takam in 2017.

Selected for Team GB in the 2016 Olympics, his professional record stands at 14 wins and zero defeats.

Okolie claimed a seventh round knockout victory over Yves Ngabu last month, after which he retreated to the States for this shopping holiday.
