Harry Kane has scored in EVERY England qualifier and could break Euro record vs Kosovo

HARRY KANE is attempting to complete a stunning goalscoring feat tonight.

And England and Tottenham pal Harry Winks is not surprised the Three Lions skipper is refusing to rest on his laurels.

Incredibly, Kane has scored in all seven qualifiers — a total of 11 goals — while he has now hit the net 31 times in 44 appearances for his country.

The record for goals in a Euros qualifying campaign is also in sight.

It stands at 13 by Northern Ireland’s David Healy ahead of Euro 2008 and matched by Poland striker Robert Lewandowski eight years on.

Kane has now scored 19 times in just 20 games for both England and Spurs this term, which means he is on course to score more than 40 over the campaign.

Winks said: “Harry has got such an elite mentality and all he ever wants to do is improve and get better.

“That’s probably why he’s one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.

“His mentality is never to rest or be happy with what you’ve done. He’s always striving for more and he’s a good role model and that’s obviously why he’s been made captain.

“He’s somebody who leads by example and somebody in whose footsteps everybody would like to follow.”

HAT-TRICK HARRY Kane now England’s sixth top scorer, eclipsing Shearer, Lofthouse and Finney

Tonight’s final qualifier against Kosovo in Pristina is very much a Euro 2020 trial for Winks, 23.

He is set for a third successive England appearance but just his sixth in total.

Winks added: “Every time I get the opportunity to play for my club and country, it’s important that I can put in a positive performance because I want to play in this team and I want to do myself justice.

“We want to top the group, of course, with as many points as we possibly can and with regards to seeding it’s important.

“There’s a lot of competition at the moment in this group and everybody is performing so well for their clubs.

“There are so many players that are pushing for positions and places, and as long as I stay on top of my game and as long as everybody else does as well, it will be a good selection problem for the gaffer.”

But Winks’ Spurs season has not gone to plan so far.

He was left at home by boss Mauricio Pochettino for the Champions League trip to Red Star Belgrade and was benched against Sheffield United.

Winks said: “I never spoke to the manager about why I was left out but I assumed it was tactical.  It’s the manager’s decision and I respect that.
