Watch Ruiz Jr show off his devastating power and speed as he accidentally punches his trainer ahead of Joshua fight

ANDY RUIZ JR gave Anthony Joshua a glimpse of what he can expect next month after almost knocking out his trainer.

The Mexican has stepped up his training as he plots to stun the Brit for a second time when they meet in Saudi Arabia on December 7.

Ruiz Jr is looking in terrific shape ahead of the match-up, having dropped the pounds to be more mobile for their fight.

And it appears to be paying off as he showed off his lighting quick hand speed on social media.

Even his trainer failed to keep up with his pace and power after being clocked around the face with a left hook.

The WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion was throwing together a few combos on the pad when his last swipe caught him flush around the chops.

Unlike AJ, the trainer managed to stay on his feet despite a few wobbly steps and Ruiz was quick to apologise by offering him a hug.

Ruiz, 30, uploaded the video to Twitter alongside the caption: “I barely touched him. What do you think?”

One fan joked: “Stronger chin than AJ.”

He has been getting himself in incredible shape ahead of their Saudi showdown by feasting on a diet of mainly fish and pasta.

And most of it is down to his nutritionist, who has prevented him eating his beloved snickers.

Ruiz’s dietician told Sky Sports: “Andy’s weight is coming down. He’s working really hard in the gym which is a factor.

“His diet? Fish, salmon, pasta on sparring days. Once in a while we have had a cheat day but nothing too crazy, man.

“The goal is to keep him eating clean, keep him eating healthily.

“Feeling light is what we’re going for. We want to keep him light.

“We’re not targeting a specific weight – maybe the same weight or a little bit less.

“But we want to feel light so it’s easier for him to move on his feet.

He continued: “We wake up and have an omelette with mushroom and spinach and avocado. I switch up the meats. Sometimes he asks for hash browns too.

“Andy likes to keep lunch lighter because he trains later in the day. He will have a chicken salad or a chicken wrap.

“We have three full meals and snacks in between. He might snack on a wrap or a sandwich, something that he travel with. Andy has a lot of nuts and fruit too.”
