ERIK TEN HAG urged Manchester United to sign four players during his time at the club – including Harry Kane.
The Dutchman was sacked by United on Monday following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
He initially came close to losing his job at the end of last season, but earned a one-year contract extension instead after leading the Red Devils to FA Cup glory.
Club officials gave him a budget of £200million to spend over the summer in a bid to strengthen the squad.
However, United have since endured their worst start to a Premier League season.
It’s estimated that Man Utd spent around £600m during Ten Hag’s reign.

But they did NOT sign the four players he allegedly wanted most.
The Daily Mail claims Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde was high on Ten Hag’s wishlist.
Frenkie De Jong was also known to be a priority target.
United pushed to sign the Barcelona star just after Ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford but failed to seal a deal.

World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister was considered a top target before he joined Liverpool in a £55m transfer last June.
And the 54-year-old was determined to sign England captain Harry Kane ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
The striker was heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester before eventually signing for Bayern Munich in a huge £104m move.
Instead, United completed a £72m deal for Rasmus Hojlund.
The Mail also report that club officials found Ten Hag’s demands to be “unrealistic”.
Man Utd currently sit 14th in the Premier League table with just 11 points from nine games.
Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is now in line to replace him, with United reportedly prepared to pay his £8m release fee.
