Thomas Tuchel parts ways with long-term coach from PSG, Chelsea and Bayern after joining England

THOMAS TUCHEL has parted ways with long-term coaching partner Zsolt Low.

Tuchel has penned an 18-month contract as England manager and won’t be bringing Low along for the journey.

Low, 45, has been working alongside Tuchel since 2018 where the pair began their professional relationship at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Hungarian coach worked as Tuchel’s assistant manager at PSG and then stayed by his side in the same position at both Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

But despite seeing through six years and nearly 300 games together, Low is now looking to pursue his own path in football away from Tuchel.

Low had previously worked as an assistant manager at RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg and FC Liefering.

While his previous employment has seen him work alongside other top managers including Ralf Rangnick and Ralph Hassenhuttl.

Tuchel has opted for another familiar face to join him in the dugout at Wembley instead.

The German already confirmed that his trusted assistant Anthony Barry – who worked with the him at Chelsea and Bayern Munich – will be joining the team as his right-hand man.

Barry learnt his craft in the lower leagues of English football and even earned his Uefa Pro License after writing a dissertation on every single throw-in from the 2018-19 Premier League season – all 16,380 of them.

There could be some more recognisable faces coming through the doors at St George’s Park.

It looks like former Chelsea goalkeeper and Premier League champion Henrique Hilario will be joining Tuchel’s Three Lions backroom team.

England interviewed ten candidates before appointing Thomas Tuchel, admits FA chief in German’s first press conference

Best known by his second name alone, Hilario spent eight years as a back-up keeper for the Blues before hanging up his gloves and immediately joining the club’s staff as a goalkeeping coach.

The 48-year-old has been with the club ever since, including Tuchel’s stint as boss in SW6.

He might not be the only staff member that Tuchel pinches from Stamford Bridge, either.

Reports claim the new England gaffer is expected to recruit Chelsea video analyst James Melbourne to his team, too.

Melbourne, 42, has worked as an analyst under multiple Chelsea bosses including Tuchel, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benítez and Guus Hiddink.

Starting as an apprentice at Grimsby Town, Melbourne worked his way to the top and currently manages the analysis department at Chelsea.

ANDY DILLON: Thomas Tuchel has all the ingredients to become a classic England manager – tactical nous, drive and a tangled love life

By Andy Dillon

THOMAS TUCHEL possesses all the ingredients to become a classic England manager.

Tactical nous, drive, energy, experience – a tangled love life.

English football should welcome back the most explosive, dynamic, charismatic and impossibly tall and gangly coach to have lit up the Premier League.

Chelsea’s colourful former boss has been leading a settled life in Munich of late.

Far enough away from ex-wife Sissi but close enough to see his two daughters.

Walking his dog in the streets in the east of Germany’s most fashionable city, residing in the posh Bogenhausen area. Living relatively quietly with his Brazilian girlfriend.

Tuchel is a vastly different personality to the man who led England quietly but assuredly to the brink of World Cups and European Championships.

An excitable nature can make him hard to handle for those seeking calm and who like to impose their way on a manager they view very much as an underling.
