Despite not being recognised as an official team by Fifa – and therefore not included in their world rankings – Catalonia can field players who are also eligible for the Spanish national team.

The upcoming friendly against Panama, currently ranked 45th by Fifa, will see Bellerin earn his first cap for Gerard Lopez’s side.

Bellerin will join forces with notable stars such as Manchester City’s Sergio Gomez, as well as ex-City and Barcelona ace Eric Garcia.

His Real Betis team-mates Aitor Ruibal, Marc Roca, and Sergio Altimira, as Catalonia announced their squad on Thursday.
