Arsenal set two new Premier League records with Man Utd win but still face missing out first title in 20 years

The North Londoners have returned to the top of the Premier League table with only one point separating them from Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Arsenal’s confidence should be boosted by the fact that they have broken two major milestones amid their Prem title bid.

The match against the Red Devils saw Mikel Arteta’s side set their single-season Premier League club record for most wins and most goals.

The Gunners registered their 27th victory in 37 matches of which they have only lost five.

Arteta’s men have won more games than anyone else in the English top flight this term.

And the North Londoners have also scored a staggering 89 goals, which is the second highest return behind City.

However, there is still a chance Arsenal could fail to win their first Premier League trophy since the Invincibles’ triumph in 2004.

The Gunners have only one last league match left on May 19 when they host Everton.

However, if Pep Guardiola’s men lose either one of their remaining two games under those circumstances then they relinquish their crown.

A draw with either opponent could see the Prem going to the team with the better goal difference, with Arsenal currently in the lead by a mere three goals.
