Liverpool 1-0 Tottenham LIVE SCORE: Mohamed Salah heads in opener for Reds – Latest Premier League updates

LIVERPOOL are taking on Tottenham to cap off a thrilling Super Sunday RIGHT NOW.

And Mohamed Salah has given the hosts the lead after a fine header past Guglielmo Vicario.

The Reds went into the game eight points adrift of leaders Arsenal and their title hopes could be over if they drop points against Spurs this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s chances of a top-four finish have faded in recent weeks after three consecutive defeats.

Ange Postecoglou’s men are in need of a big three points but they haven’t won at Anfield since 2011.

    • Ange Postecoglu speaks:

Ange Postecoglu has spoken to Sky Sports on the test of coming to Anfield to play against Liverpool, and on how he reacted to his teams loss against Chelsea in the week.

“Yeah it’s a massive test, particularly in the context of Liverpool’s season as they are fighting for the title, it’s tough enough to come here as it is.”

“Just trying to get some sleep, mate. [..] In the moment you’re obviously disappointed, but I’ve always stepped back and had a look at the broader pictures and this group of players have done awfully well this year, sometimes I think I’m too hard on them but I do that for a reason.”

    • Jurgen Klopp speaks:

Jurgen Klopp has done his pre-match interview with Sky Sports, and he was questioned about Mohammed Salah starting after their touchline spat last weekend.

This is what he had to say:

“I am in a good mood, it is my penultimate home game.”

“Mo had a really good training week this week, so there was absolutely no doubt he would start today.”

    • LFC’s danger man

You will not be surprised to know that Liverpool’s danger man is Mo Salah.

One of the best forwards in Premier League history, he looks like he has a point to prove this evening against Emerson Royal – a second choice right-back playing left-back…

    • The danger man for Spurs.

For Tottenham, look no further for goals than Son Heung-min.

The South Korean has 16 goals to his name this season, and can score a variety of goals.

He will have to do battle against Virgil Van Dijk if he wants to score this evening, but may be able to pull on the inexperience of Jarrell Quansah.

    • Half an hour to go!

A huge game coming up for you here at Anfield, and it all gets underway in a little under half an hour.

Before then, lets have a look at the danger men for both sides…

    • MORE last minute chaos?

Liverpool vs Tottenham has provided SIX 90th minute winners in the Premier League, the most of any fixture in the history of the competition.

Both of the last two games have been won by a 90th minute winner by the home team.

It was a Joel Matip O.G last time, but will there be more chaos in today’s game?

If there is, will it be Liverpool’s turn this time?

    • Changes for Spurs

The visitors are still missing the trio of Timo Werner, Ben Davies and Destiny Udogie for this game, and likely for the rest of the season.

Ange Postecoglu has bought James Maddison back into the starting XI, as well as dropping Richarlison. Rodrigo Bentancur also starts in midfield.

    • Salah returns!

Jurgen Klopp has recalled his talismanic forward for this game, despite their touchline spat last weekend.

Mo Salah is joined by Cody Gakpo, who is expected to be a favourite of the incoming Arne Slot, and Luis Diaz in attack.

Harvey Elliot will be playing just behind them.

    • Spurs team

    • Team news is in!

Skipper Virgil van Dijk STARTS for the hosts despite fitness concerns in the week.
