ROBIN VAN PERSIE is on the brink of landing his first managerial job, according to reports in Holland.
The 40-year-old looks set to take over at Eredivisie side Heerenveen next season.
The club were keen on appointing former Ajax boss Maurice Steijn before turning their attentions to Van Persie, according to Dutch Outlet AD.
Van Persie had been working as the coach of Feyenoord’s U18s team, where he is a club legend.
His agent reportedly called Heerenveen to inform them that the former forward would be interested in taking the vacant managerial hot-seat should it be offered to him.
It comes after the club announced they would part ways with manager Kees van Wonderen at the end of the season last month.
