Arsenal fan Piers Morgan brutally dismisses Chelsea as ‘train wreck full of useless spoiled brats’ before derby clash

PIERS MORGAN took aim at Chelsea’s “spoiled brats” and claimed they are a “train wreck” ahead of their derby clash with Arsenal.

The Gunners supporting host of Talk TV and Sun Sport columnist has stoked up the flames ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League clash with the Blues at the Emirates.

Morgan, 59, fired the brutal shots at Chelsea after becoming involved in a back-and-forth row on X with a fan account of the Stamford Bridge outfit.

It all started when Morgan waded into the debate about the controversial decision to scrap FA Cup replays from next season.

He posted: “All this fuss over FA Cup replays being canned misses the bigger point – no big club or top player cares about the FA Cup any more.

“The Premier League & Champions League are all that matters for elite teams/stars. To pretend otherwise is delusional.”

That led to an account called Chelsea Report replying: “So therefore you’ve not won anything in 20 years if it’s that irrelevant?”

It did not take long for Morgan to respond, saying: “No big trophy, no. But I understand why the FA Cup is so vital to Chelsea fans, it’s the mid-table mediocrity club’s Holy Grail.”

The back and forth continued, as Chelsea Report said: “Considering in that time period we’ve won 5 Premier League’s, 2 Europa Leagues, 2 Champions Leagues..I could go on.

“The FA Cup is the only thing you’ve got to show for in the last 2 decades.”

That led to Morgan delivering the knockout blow as he posted: “Chelsea was a big club but now you’re a train wreck full of useless spoiled brat kids fighting over who takes penalties. Embarrassing.”

That was in reference to the shock penalty furore that occurred on Monday when Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson both tried to wrestle the ball off Cole Palmer before the England star eventually slotted home for his fourth off the game against Everton.

The forgotten Arsenal wonderkids

However, Chelsea will be looking to put that embarrassment behind them this afternoon.

They head to Wembley to face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final.

It’s been a largely miserable campaign for the Blues under boss Mauricio Pochettino, except for the form of Palmer.

They suffered defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final back in March but form has picked up in the top-flight as they look to secure European football next term.

The Blues are currently ninth on 47 points, three behind seventh-placed Manchester United having played a game less.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are looking to try and end their 20-year wait for a title.

They are currently two points behind leaders Man City but are ahead of Liverpool via goal difference with just six Premier League matches to go.

Chelsea’s penalty chaos

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has been tearing his hair out watching Chelsea’s stars fight over penalties again and again. Here are all their spot kick lowlights

  1. CHELSEA 2-2 ARSENAL (23rd October, 2023)

GOAL Raheem Sterling immediately picks up the ball to take Chelsea’s spot kick before Cole Palmer approaches. Enzo Fernandez intervenes to give the ball to Palmer, who sends David Raya the wrong way to score.

  2. CHELSEA 4 LEICESTER CITY 2 (17th March, 2024)

MISS Raheem Sterling wins a penalty and this time is handed the ball by Palmer. However, he fires it down the middle and sees his kick comfortably saved. Leicester later recover to 2-2 from 2-0 down and Sterling is booed every time he touches the ball by a section of the home crowd.

  3. CHELSEA 4 MANCHESTER UNITED 3 (4th April, 2024)

GOAL Noni Madueke makes an audacious attempt to take the ball off Palmer after winning a 98th minute penalty with the Blues 3-2 down but is pulled away by Trevoh Chalobah. Palmer sends Andre Onana the wrong way before scoring a winner two minutes later.

  4. CHELSEA 6 EVERTON 0 (15th April, 2024)

GOAL Madueke picks up the ball immediately after Chelsea are awarded a penalty at 4-0 up, but a furious Nicolas Jackson rushes in wanting to take the kick and shoves the winger. Captain Conor Gallagher has to intervene to give the ball to Palmer, who scores. Pochettino blasts his team’s behaviour as “like being at school”.
