Man City vs Luton: Best betting tips, odds & predictions for Saturday’s game

Man City vs Luton preview

It’s third vs third-bottom on Saturday when Man City welcome Luton to the Etihad.

In proper David vs Goliath fashion, City can go top of the league with a win over Luton and are amongst the shortest odds in Premier League history to do so.

Pep Guardiola’s men arrive here having served up a belter of a Champions League tie in the 3-3 draw at Real Madrid.

How much will next midweek’s return leg play in the manager’s mind with team selection?

Given it’s three draws in their last six games in all competitions, they’ll need to start putting a winning run together soon if there’s to be a big push for the remaining trophies.

Luton ended an 11-game winless run with a huge, late win over Bournemouth at Kenilworth Road.

They’re now only in the drop zone on goal difference after coming from behind to win that one and give themselves a fighting chance of survival.

They could probably be doing with facing City at the Etihad though. The two previous meetings in the league and cup came at Luton’s ground with 2-1 and 6-2 City wins.

Manchester City vs Luton betting tips

City slick

Man City have scored 11 goals in their last three games – at home to Champions League hopefuls Aston Villa, away at Crystal Palace and then in Madrid.

Erling Haaland has only scored ONE of them, showing the mixture of goals across the board in the champions.

Goals shouldn’t be an issue here either, having scored six at Luton when the sides last met. Good value.

Yellow warning

Luton defender Teden Mengi will be on high alert coming up against this City attack – as the rest of his teammates will be.

He was recently booked in the defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And given they’ll be on the back foot for the majority of this one, cards are definitely a play here and he’s a very good price amongst his teammates for a booking.

Kev’s return

Kevin de Bruyne didn’t feature in midweek having fallen ill in the build-up and being sick inside the Bernabeu prior to kick off.

He was on the bench and should come back into the side here.

Opened the scoring at Palace last weekend before adding a second and no surprise should he follow that up here.
