His arrival in Asia was greeted with much excitement from fans, with 51,670 packing into Seoul World Cup Stadium to witness his home debut.

“If he doesn’t fight, and doesn’t run better than the player who runs for 90 minutes?”

With the K-League season having kicked off earlier this month, Lingard featured from the bench in their opening three games.

He missed today’s 1-1 draw at Gangwon altogether, having suffered with a meniscus injury.

Lingard added a further message, which read: “In the era of loving myself more.”

He was criticised by boss Kim after his most recent appearance, a half-hour cameo during a 2-0 win over Jeju United.

FC Seoul are seventh in the 12-team K-League, having won just once in their first four games.

Lingard is yet to provide a goal or an assist for his new club.
