Sky Sports boxing press conference chaos as security forced to step in after unbeaten boxer gatecrashes event


BEN WHITTAKER had his Sky Sports press conference gatecrashed by a raging wannabe opponent.

The 26-year-old light-heave ace was trying to promote his Sunday night fight against Leon Willings, when an unnamed stranger ran toward the stage shouting abuse.

The 6-0 West Bromwich starlet called for calm and urged the security to let the stranger speak.

The ripped invader threw a load of insults at the 2016 Olympic silver winner and asked to be his next rival.

But Whittaker kept ice cool and peppered the mystery man with smart jibes until the bouncers ushered him out of the InterContinental hotel.

Whittaker – aka The Surgeon – calmly said: “I don’t even know who that guy is, I am an Olympican, not many people can say that.

“I am worried about his blood pressure, someone get him a bottle of Sprite and a lie down.

“I like that chain he has on, though, did he get it from Amazon?”

Whittaker went viral with his superb shots, classy defensive skills and his showboating against Khalid Graidia in February.

The rapidly rising star is patiently waiting for his shot at a world title.

And he is happy to have potential opponents, like Willings and Friday’s phantom foe, launching themselves right at him.

He said: “Leon is the bounty hunter, there is a big bounty on my head.
