Man Utd flop Antony spends international break at brutal strength and conditioning boot camp on paradise island

ANTONY has been undergoing a secret strength and conditioning training camp at a luxury fitness resort to keep himself in tip-top condition.

And he’s determined to hit the ground running after the international break following a snub from Samba Boys boss Dorival Júnior.

The winger has been putting himself through his paces at a fitness resort in Madeira, Portugal.

Antony has been putting in the work at the world-famous Fisio Clinic, which focuses on physiotherapy, rehabilitation and ensuring athletes reach peak performance levels.

United fans will hope Antony’s extra hours in the gym will bear fruit.

The 24-year-old has been wildly inconsistent since his big-money move to Old Trafford and has endured a nightmare campaign this season.

Antony has only found the back of the net twice in 30 appearances in all competitions, in which he’s only managed one assist.

One of those goals came in United’s epic 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final victory over bitter rivals Liverpool earlier this month.

And manager Erik ten Hag hopes the strike will breathe new life into his signing’s Old Trafford career, saying: “He is in a problematic situation but you see he is fighting as well.

“And then he lost confidence, and now he has to fight back.

“We see through the last two weeks, he’s returning.

“I see in training, I see the Antony I was used to work with at Ajax, and also used to work in the first weeks here.

“He has to fight back, and I’m sure he will do, because you’ve seen that goal.”

Antony and his Manchester United team-mates will be back in action on Saturday, travelling to West London to take on Brentford.
