Rob Edwards smirks as he takes cheeky swipe at Man Utd – but fans slam ‘salty’ Luton manager

LUTON boss Rob Edwards made a cheeky dig at Manchester United and the officials after yesterday’s game.

A double from Rasmus Hojlund inside the first seven minutes saw the Red Devils win 2-1 and make it five wins in a row.

Carlton Morris got on the scoresheet for Luton before the Hatters pushed hard for the equaliser late in the match.

Edwards was left fuming in his post-match press conference over what he deemed as a lack of stoppage time added on at the end.

The Luton boss said with a smirk: “It was like back to last season that weren’t it – I don’t know where that one came from.

“Man Utd are winning 2-1, so it’s four minutes.”

Fans have slammed Edwards for his comments, with one saying: “The tears are salty.”

Another added: “These guys keep complaining about everything. Get a grip.”

A third reacted: “They had 90 minutes to score and they’re complaining about four minutes.”

More said: “I hate the officiating as much as the next guy but a couple of more minutes isn’t why they lost yesterday.”

Edwards was also adamant that Casemiro should’ve been sent off for two yellow cards after a challenge on Ross Barkley went unpunished.

The Brazilian midfielder was subbed off after 45 minutes by Erik ten Hag.

Asked if Casemiro should have seen red, Edwards said: “The fact that he came off at half-time might be a little bit of a telltale sign to how I feel about that one.

“I’m not going to complain about it right now.”

Luton currently sit one point above the relegation zone in 17th.

Meanwhile, United are sixth and five points off the top four.
