WAYNE ROONEY has broken his silence on potentially entering the boxing ring.
The Manchester United legend had been tipped to try his hands at boxing after talks with Misfits Boxing.
However, Rooney has now insisted that he is focused on returning to football management.
He told The Overlap: “They’ve been in touch and asked the question but I think at the minute I want to focus on getting back into management.
“There’s a few, obviously Misfits have been in, and that’s been all over the news.
“But I want to get back into management, that is my focus.”

Rooney, 38, has been out of work since he was sacked by Birmingham City after just 15 games.
It had been reported that he was having talks with Misfits Boxing promoter Kalle Sauerland.
It was suggested that Rooney was “weighing up his options” but it appears now that the door is shut on a boxing career.
The former England international is an avid boxing fan.

Back in 2015, The Sun exclusively revealed a video of Rooney sparring with ex-United team-mate Phil Bardsley at his home.
However, he was sparked out and landed on his kitchen floor.
The video went viral and he ended up mimicking the moment as he celebrated scoring against Tottenham in his next match.
It is not the first time United’s record scorer has flirted with entering the boxing ring, having previously messaged Eddie Hearn and jokingly asking the promoter to set up a fight for him.
Like Hearn, social media sensation KSI has revealed Rooney has text him in the past over a potential fight.
Speaking in 2022, he said: “It’s funny – I hope he doesn’t get annoyed that I said this – but Wayne Rooney hit me up being like, ‘Oh, we should fight.’
“And I said no. I just don’t want to do that. If Wayne Rooney is down, of course I think it would be good to have him in this space.”
