DOUGLAS LUIZ got over the embarrassment of his bizarre celebration against Manchester United as he celebrated Valentine’s Day on Wednesday.
The midfielder is dating fellow Aston Villa forward, Alisha Lehmann, who plays for the club in the WSL.
Luiz made headlines last week for his “chest-shimmy” celebration which saw him shake his chest back and forth in front of Andre Onana after scoring past him.
The goal put Aston Villa back in the game at 1-1 but Villa ultimately lost the game 2-1 to a late Scott McTominay winner.
The winner saw Raphael Varane exchange some choice words with Luiz, with some speculating that the celebration was actually aimed at him and not Onana.
Luiz backtracked on the meaning of the celebration after the game, and suggested it did not originate as a “trolling” celebration.

Rio Ferdinand took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to ask about the celebration after the match and wrote: “You okay Douglas Luiz?😭😂”
He responded: “I’m good, thanks it’s just carnival time in Brazil.”
The midfielder put the debate around his celebrations fully behind him on Wednesday night however as he celebrated Valentine’s Day with Lehmann.
The two posted a joint loved-up photo of themselves from Luiz’s car on Instagram with the caption: “Happy Valentine‘s day ♥️ I love you.”

They also took to Lehmann’s Instagram story to show Luiz’s present for Lehmann.
The Villa women’s team forward unwrapped a necklace from Chanel and said to Luiz: “Thank you, I love you so much.”
The couple began dating back in 2021, when Lehmann announced the two were a couple to her 16 million Instagram followers.
The two split up for a period last year, but announced they were back together with a loved-up New Year’s Instagram in January.
