Gareth Bale shows off shredded abs as Wales legend welcomes in 2024 with stunning wife and family on sun-kissed holiday


GARETH BALE welcomed in 2024 by showing off his ripped abs on the beach as he relaxed on holiday with his family.

The Wales icon, 34, hung up his boots in 2023, announcing his retirement from football at the start of the year.

And he seems to be in a happy place in life as he saw in the new year with a loving post.

Bale shared a picture of him in his swimming shorts on the beach as he revealed he is still in supreme shape with toned abs.

The former Tottenham and Real Madrid man also posted snaps of him with wife Emma Rhys-Jones – his high-school sweetheart.

In one photo, they were seen gazing into each other’s eyes, while another saw them smiling at dinner.

Bale, who has four children with Emma, also shared an image of him hugging one of his kids.

And he added the short caption: “Perfect way to see in 2024. Happy New Year 🎉.”

Bale and Emma have four children – two daughters and two sons.

Their first child Alba Violet was born at the University Hospital of Wales on October 21, 2012.

Their second daughter, Nava Valentina arrived on March 22, 2016.

The couple’s son Axel was born on May 8, 2018, before their fourth child Xander was born on July 7, 2021.

Meanwhile, Bale is one of the most decorated British footballers ever.

He won five Champions League trophies, all with Real Madrid, while he also lifted three La Liga crowns, three Fifa Club World Cups, three Super Cups, the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa de Rey during his time in Spain.

Bale came through the ranks at Southampton before joining Tottenham as a 17-year-old in 2007.

He spent six seasons at Spurs, winning two PFA Players’ Player of the Year awards.

In his final season in England, he scored 26 goals in all competitions – earning him a move to Real Madrid, who paid Spurs a world-record fee of more than £80million.

And despite a love-hate relationship with Madrid supporters, he won an incredible SIXTEEN trophies in eight years.

Bale left the Bernabeu in 2022 and joined MLS side Los Angeles FC ahead of the World Cup.

And he made himself a hero by scoring a dramatic last-gasp equaliser during extra time in the MLS Cup final – which his side went on to win on penalties.

But that proved to be his final kick of a ball in club football as he announced his retirement just weeks after the World Cup.
