CHELSEA fans have demanded Levi Colwill be made the club’s permanent captain after getting wind of his pre-match interview ahead of their clash with Manchester United.
The centre-back was named as the Blues’ skipper for their Premier League clash with the Red Devils this evening.
Colwill has become a beloved figure by the Stamford Bridge faithful with a string of impressive performances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.
And he further endeared himself to Blues fans by saying: “We’re definitely building something.
“We’re not going to be where we want to be in a few years time but when everyone gets back fit and we have players like [Christopher] Nkunku, it’ll be a really exciting time for us.
“We still have amazing players right now and we’re looking to get a win here tonight.”

Another chimed in: “26 on the back, CB and captain.”
Fans’ mentioning of the fact Colwill wears the No.26 is in reference to former Blues skipper John Terry, who used to wear the number.

The Argentine said of the defender in July: “Levi has had a few days [in training] and I think he is nearly fit.
‘Of course, why we play with him is because we need to share minutes with different players – and I think he is in a good form.’
