PREMIER LEAGUE flop Joselu had an incomprehensible mind blank moment during Real Madrid’s clash with Cadiz.
The former Stoke and Newcastle striker is currently on loan at Los Blancos from fellow Spanish side Espanyol.
Although the 33-year-old’s career has panned out better than most Premier League fans would have expected, it didn’t stop him from having a howler on Sunday.
The Spaniard was in the Cadiz box alongside team-mate Rodrygo when the Brazilian played a square pass to him.
It left Joselu wide open in acres of space and facing an empty goal with Cadiz goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma out of position.
But remarkably he decided not to shoot and get himself a certain sixth goal of the season.

Rather he put his hands up to signal that he wasn’t going to touch it and watched the ball roll past him and out of play.
Fans have been left utterly shocked by the moment of madness and assumed that he must have been offside.
But footage of the incident suggests that Joselu was onside and any goal would have counted.
One furious Real Madrid fan took to social media to vent their anger, writing: “Every normal striker would still tap the ball in right?”

While another added: “I still can’t wrap my head around why he didn’t tap the ball in. He actually froze in real time.”
And a third commented: “The ball wasn’t even fast, it was the perfect pace, he could score it lying down and he just chose to leave it automatically assuming it was offside.”
A fourth chimed in saying: “Very bizarre. I’ve never seen this kind thing before!”
Others suggested that he was letting the ball run as he thought Rodrygo was going to get to it and didn’t want to be selfish.
One fan wrote: “I don’t think his concern was about being offside. I think he didn’t want to get in Rodrygo’s way because he didn’t think it was a pass.”
And a second added: “They both confused each other. Joselu was thinking Rodrygo was going to score, Rodrygo left it for Joselu thinking he would shoot.”
Joselu’s blushes were spared in the end as Real Madrid still went on to win the game 3-0 with ease.
And it was a historic game too with Jude Bellingham breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal scoring record at the club by netting 14 times in first 15 appearances for the European giants.
