COPS are probing claims a teen girl was the victim of a sickening sex attack at the pyro-hit Dundee v Rangers game, we can reveal.
Officers were alerted after the 13-year-old was allegedly targeted at Dens Park when Gers fans ignited dozens of flares at Wednesday night’s fixture.
It’s understood the alleged incident happened in the Bob Shankly Stand where yobs sparked fury with a ‘wall-of-fire’ display.
Referee Kevin Clancy was forced to halt play for 18 minutes as smoke engulfed the away end during Gers’ 5-0 win over Dundee.
And cops have now confirmed a probe has been launched into a claims of an alleged sexual assault on a child.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are carrying out enquiries following an allegation of sexual assault involving a 13-year-old girl which happened at Dens Park in Dundee on Wednesday.”
A spokesman for the Dens Park club added: “Dundee FC can confirm we are aware of an incident which took place in the Bob Shankly stand during Wednesday’s match against Rangers.
“The club are fully supporting the police investigation and the club’s child welfare and protection officer is supporting the situation.
“As this is an ongoing police investigation the club will be making no further comment.”

The chaotic scenes triggered fire alarms and ramped up worries the stand could catch fire as around 70 flares were ignited by a travelling support.
Later this month the Scottish Government, Police Scotland and the Football Safety Officers’ Association will meet to discuss the increasing prevalence of flares.
Yesterday at a press conference, Rangers boss Philippe Clement said: “The pyro we don’t need. It doesn’t give something extra. It is dangerous.”
In a statement issued after Wednesday’s clash, an SPFL spokesman said the growing use of pyros was “concerning and unwelcome”.
Police Scotland Superintendent Iain Wales added: “Taking pyrotechnics into a football stadium is not only an offence, it is extremely dangerous.”
A Dundee spokesperson branded the scenes “unacceptable” and added: “Despite robust practice by all clubs in the SPFL and the SFA at Hampden, flares, offensive banners and singing of sectarian songs continue to be a problem all across our game in Scottish football.
“As we are working with the authorities we are unable to comment on the situation at this time.
“The club will comment further once the ongoing investigation has taken place and concluded.”
