The goalkeeper, 17, is rated as one of Cobham’s top new prospects after starring for Chelsea’s U16s and U18s.

But over the summer Curd was loaned out in a surprise move to YouTube club Hashtag United, who play in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

The Essex-based club was founded by YouTuber Spencer Owen in 2016.

Chelsea legend Cesar Azpilicueta is an investor in Hashtag United, who have a huge online following.

Their star player is Love Island star Toby Aromolaran, while iconic striker Adebayo Akinfenwa briefly turned out for them.

Now Hashtag United are moving further up the food chain after Curd was selected to represent his country at the U17s World Cup.

A message from the club read: “Congratulations on selection Ted Curd and good luck and the U17 Fifa World Cup with England and the Young Lions.”

Curd isn’t the only Chelsea youngster involved, with Josh Acheampong, Harrison Murray-Campbell, Ishe Samuels-Smith, Michael Golding and Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny also selected for the tournament.
