Postecoglou’s side edged to a 2-1 over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Palace despite only mustering one shot on target.

The manager has earned plenty of plaudits this season for the club’s performances on the pitch but he has also been praised for his manner off the pitch.

And following the victory Postecoglou was no different as he had Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher in hysterics.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Carragher joked that Spurs’ success this season has come from Postecoglou just “copying Pep Guardiola”.

Postecoglou cheekily responded: “I just study one game a week and see what he is doing and where to go from there.

“And you know what there is nothing wrong with that you know?”

This prompted Neville to say: “I tried copying him (Pep)!”

To which Postecoglou brilliantly responded: “How’d that go?”

The Aussie’s quick wit left Neville and Carragher reeling in laughter.

As Postecoglou prepared to return to the changing room, he had one more joke in the locker as he quipped: “I’m off to watch Man City”.

The manager also did not want to lower any expectations from the jubilant Spurs fans.

When asked if they should be allowed to dream, he gave an encouraging answer.

He said: “Let them dream. It’s what being a football fan is all about.

“It’s fair to say that this lot have suffered a fair bit so I’m certainly not going to dampen that.”
