Fans spot furious Erik ten Hag’s MELTDOWN on touchline as he screams at Man Utd star during Sheff Utd win

FANS couldn’t help but notice Erik ten Hag’s late meltdown in the dying embers of Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United.

The Red Devils took the lead yesterday through Scott McTominay, who continued his rich vein of scoring form.

But he saw himself go from hero to villain after he conceded a spot-kick which was converted by Oli McBurnie in the 34th minute.

A 78th-minute Diogo Dalot wonder goal was enough for the Red Devils to leave South Yorkshire with all three points as they made it two Premier League wins from their last two.

Ten Hag was clearly exasperated on the sidelines as he desperately willed his side on to hold on for the three points.

Fans could not help but notice Ten Hag’s frustration and took to Twitter to point out the Dutchman losing it with a player – although it is unclear who he was singling out.

One fan wrote: “Ten Hag is losing his rag and I’m here for it” as he posted a video of the exasperated manager on the sidelines.

Another fan wrote: “I fail to believe this is how Ten Hag wants us to play. He must be fuming every game seeing his tactics not followed week in week out. Good thing he’s already bald!”

A third fan posted: “The look of a man whose job is on the line…”

While a fourth wrote: “First time I’ve seen him lose it.”

It was particularly important for United to get all three points on a day sadly marked by the news that legendary former midfielder Sir Bobby Charlton had died at the age of 86.

Ten Hag paid his respects to Sir Bobby after the game, saying:  “Of course we are very sad and our thoughts are with his family and especially his wife Lady Norma, his children and his grandchildren.

“It is a legend, a giant passing away. His achievements are so immense and huge. It is global, not only England; you see the facts he achieved is incredible.

“All the games; his titles, his trophies, the contribution he had with his goals.

“I never had the honour to meet him but I heard, despite all his trophies and games, he was so humble.

“A big personality and an example for all of us as a footballer and also in society and global wide.

“It was an extra motivation [to get the win], absolutely.”
