Arsenal fans boast ‘David Raya is who Man Utd supporters thought Andre Onana would be’ after midfield-splitting pass


ARSENAL fans have praised David Raya for a stunning pass he made during the club’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

The Gunners cruised to a 4-0 win over Andoni Iraola’s side on Saturday.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the 17th minute before captain Martin Odegaard extended his team’s advantage on the brink of half time.

Summer signing Kai Havertz then opened his Premier League account for Arsenal from the penalty spot.

And Ben White sealed the three points in added time with a thumping header.

Arsenal fans were thrilled with the outcome and overall squad performance.

And although he didn’t have too much to do throughout the match, new boy Raya was singled out for a moment of brilliance in the sixth minute.

The Spaniard received the ball in his box before splitting the Bournemouth midfield with an excellent pass through to Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Fans took to social media to react, with one person tweeting: “This was so good!”

Another added: “The pass beat the whole press.”

A third wrote: “See how he created a counter attack out of nothing.”

While one fan poked fun at Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, commenting: “Raya is who United fans thought Onana would be 😂.”

Raya joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Brentford in August.

The loan deal, worth £3million, includes an option to buy at the end of the 2023-24 campaign for £27m.

After starting the season on the bench, he replaced Aaron Ramsdale in the starting line-up prior to Arsenal’s match against Everton and has since kept his place in the Premier League squad.
