Furious Tottenham fans blast ‘bottler’ Harry Kane after England captain says ‘it wasn’t a disaster’ if Spurs didn’t win

HARRY KANE has aimed a subtle dig at Tottenham, admitting that it “wasn’t a disaster” if his former club failed to win.

The 30-year-old left Spurs to join Bayern Munich in a £104million transfer last month.

He has since enjoyed a successful start to life in Germany, with three goals in three Bundesliga appearances.

Bayern currently sit second in the Bundesliga table, level on points with Bayer Leverkusen as they work towards a 12th consecutive title.

And Kane has lauded the club’s “top” mentality, claiming they “have to win” every game.

Speaking ahead of England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine on Friday, he said: “We wanted to win at Spurs, but if you went a couple of games without winning it wasn’t a disaster. At Bayern you have to win every game.

“After winning 3-1 and 4-0 in our first two games, there was talk about not being too happy about way we played! Top club mentality.”

Tottenham fans were left furious with Kane’s comments, with some claiming that he “bottled” the chance to win trophies in North London.

One person tweeted: “Harry Kane is the bottle job, and any trophy he ‘wins’ at Bayern won’t disguise that fact.”

Another added: “Harry Kane never loved Spurs like everyone thought he did… Imagine my shock.

“How about keep quiet H and focus on your new club, rather than digging out the club that made you and gave you multiple chances to do the things you say you want to do. Try not to bottle it, pal.”

While a third fan commented: “He’s played in four finals in his career and hasn’t turned up in any of them.”

One Tottenham fan even highlighted a series of missed opportunities that Kane has had to win a trophy, including the 2019 Champions League final, the 2021 Carabao Cup final and the Euro 2020 final.

Kane even had the opportunity to win a trophy on his Bayern Munich debut last month, but the German giants squandered the Supercup with a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig.
