ELLEN WHITE retired from football shortly after the Lioness’ epic Euros 2022 win and later confirmed she was starting a family.

The football legend, who played for Manchester City and Birmingham City and represented Team GB at the Olympics, has had the support of husband Callum Convery throughout her career.

Who is Ellen White’s husband?

Ellen’s husband is called Callum Convery.

The couple first met while attending Loughborough University together.

Callum, who has worked as a sports development officer at Nottinghamshire Football Association in the past, proposed in 2013.

18 months after they got engaged, Callum and Ellen got married.

They held their wedding in Aylesbury.

Speaking to OK! in 2019 about supporting his wife throughout the years, Callum said: “You can’t really put it into words.

“I’ve gone from watching Ellen 11 years ago on a windy, wet afternoon in Leeds to seeing her in front of thousands in the World Cup!”

How many children does Ellen White have?

Ellen and Callum welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in April 2023.

The football star announced she was expecting her first baby in December 2022.

Ellen confirmed the arrival of her daughter in a post shared on Twitter and Instagram.

She posted a lengthy caption on social media along with a photo of her husband and daughter, saying: “Best Daddy carrying our beautiful baby girl. 

“We are so utterly besotted with you and you are so blinking cute.

“We are extremely grateful to all the professionals @tandgicft for your incredible support & dedication in helping with the safe arrival of our daughter.”

When did Ellen White retire from football and what does she do now?

Ellen retired in August 2022 at the age of 33.

At the time she stepped down, White was England Women’s all-time leading goalscorer – a title she still holds at the time of writing.

Ellen announced her retirement on Twitter with an emotional statement.

It read: “This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life but one that I know is the right decision for me. This decision has always been one I have wanted to make on my terms.

“And this is my time to say goodbye to football and watch the next generation shine.

“It has been my greatest honour and privilege to play this game. In particular playing for England has and always will be the greatest gift.

“My dreams came true on the 31st July, winning The Euros and becoming a European Champion.”

Ellen made her professional football debut in 2010 and played for Leeds United, Notts County and Arsenal throughout her career.

She achieved 113 caps with 52 goals for England.

White also represented Great Britain at both the London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

In 2023 it was confirmed that Ellen would provide coverage for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She was announced as part of the BBC Sport presenting team for the tournament.
