    Oh Lando whatever next…

Verstappen is a good sport about his trophy being broken, sharing a laugh with Norris on the podium after realising what happened.

It seems Norris may need to be a little more careful with his podium ritual in the future.

    Ocon breaks silence

Ocon has broken his silence after heading to the medical centre following his early retirement from the race.

Taking to Twitter, the 2021 race winner said: “Unlucky. Frustrating. Big impact on the crash but glad we are both ok.

“We regroup and come back next week.”

The Alpine driver was forced to retire after his seat cracked IN TWO as a result of the impact of the crash with Zhou.

  • Ricciardo solid on return

Ricciardo went largely under the radar in Hungary but claimed a P13 finish on his return.

It also saw him beat team-mate Tsunoda by two spots.

  • Verstappen trophy falls into pieces

Verstappen may have won the race but it seems he will need a replacement trophy after his broke into pieces.

Fan footage appeared to show Norris smashing his champagne bottle onto the top step of the podium, causing Verstappen’s trophy to fall off and smash into multiple pieces.

  • Verstappen on his race

Yeah, we had finally a really good start. Very happy with that we’ve been working on it a bit. then I knew of course when I had the inside that corner was mine [vs Hamilton]. It was just late on the brakes, heavy car, luckily it all worked out well and basically from there I could do my race and today the car was really, really quick.

I think over one lap this weekend it was a bit of a struggle but maybe it was probably a good thing for today. We could look after the tyre wear and that’s why we could create such a gap.

For the team, 12 wins in a row is just incredible. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going for a long time. It’s always good to look into yesterday for example to keep pushing and always wanting to do better.

  • ‘Stop here please’

With Verstappen claiming a seventh win in a row, Rosberg – who also has seven wins in a row – jokingly asked the Red Bull driver to “stop here please”.

  • ‘Unless Max retires’

Speaking to Nico Rosberg after the race, Norris joked he won’t get his maiden race win until after Verstappen retires.

It comes with the McLaren pilot earning back-to-back podiums for the first time in his career.

  • Perez claims driver of the day

  • Crushing win for Red Bull

The upgrade the Bulls brought today paid dividends as Verstappen won by a staggering 32 seconds.

Red Bull maintain their 100 per cent record this season.

  • TOP 10

Norris held off Perez for P2 while Hamilton needed at least one more lap to catch the Red Bull.

Piastri comes home in P5, with Russell P6 after Leclerc’s penalty is applied.

Leclerc and Sainz grab P7 and P8, while Alonso takes P9 with Lance Stroll in P10.

  • VERSTAPPEN WINS IN HUNGARY

It’s a seventh consecutive win for Max Verstappen as Red Bull take a record 12th win in a row as well.

  • Sargeant late spin

    Lap 69/70

Williams Logan Sargeant has had a late spin before retiring from the race.

But it won’t impact the race a whole lot.

  • Hamilton cuts lead by over half second

    Lap 68/70

Hamilton has now cut the lead to under two seconds.

Meanwhile, Russell is within the five-second penalty time of Leclerc to effectively give him P6.

  • Hammer time

    Lap 66/70

The Mercedes is coming alive in the closing stages and Hamilton is closing in on Perez.

The gap now stands at 3.2 seconds. Could we be on for the another Verstappen-Norris-Hamilton podium?

  • Russell into P7

    Lap 65/70

Russell is now up to P7 and is 5.5 seconds behind Leclerc who has a five-second penalty.

He may yet gain a P6 by the end of the race.

  • Russell into P7

    Lap 65/70

Russell is now up to P7 and is 5.5 seconds behind Leclerc who has a five-second penalty.

He may yet gain a P6 by the end of the race.

  • Five to go

    Lap 64/70

Into the final five laps now.

Perez is closing in on Norris for P2, while Russell is not battling Sainz for P7.

And that comes after Russell enquired about pitting.

  • Norris verbals on back markers.

    Lap 61/70

After coming up to the back markers Norris had another outburst.

Norris fumed: “**** they have to get out of the way! So many blue flags. They’re not even racing for anything.”

Now more than 20 seconds behind Verstappen.

  • Final 10

    Lap 60/70

The final 10 laps are underway in Hungary.

It’s been a routine race for Verstappen, while Perez is on course to make a Red Bull 1-2 unless Norris can miraculously hold him off.

    Top five

    1. Verstappen
    2. Norris
    3. Perez
    4. Hamilton
    5. Piastri
  • Hamilton into P4

    Lap 57/70

Hamilton is now up to P4 after overtaking Piastri down the inside of Turn 1.

  • Norris agitated on radio

    Lap 56/70

With Norris under threat at losing P2, Norris’s race engineer caught some flak as he asked the Brit to pick up the pace.

Norris snaps back by telling his engineer he’s pushing.

It’s been a frustrating day for McLaren overall with their pace not enough to match the dominant Red Bull.

  • Closing stages

    Lap 55/70

We’re into the final 15 laps in Hungary.

Perez is catching Norris for P2 with Verstappen pulling away all the time.

Hamilton remains P5 and is closing in on Piastri in P4.

  • Verstappen pits for a second time

    Lap 52/70

Verstappen is back in the pits for his second stop.

But he has such a huge advantage only a catastrophic stop would cause an issue.

Luckily for him that hasn’t happened and he remains 12 seconds ahead of Norris.
