A LIGUE 2 match has been abandoned after a player was rushed to hospital after being attacked by a fan.
Luca Buades saw his celebration for putting Rodez ahead against Bordeaux cut short after a fan lashed out at him.
The midfielder opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, and while celebrating with the rest of his team and was then attacked by a fan.
Footage showed Buades and another player fall to the ground and be checked on by his team-mates.
After receiving attention from the medical staff, he walked off the pitch for further treatment.
He has since been taken to hospital after the club confirmed he had suffered a concussion.

The game was paused for a while Buades got the help he needed.
After a long pause in the game, referee Nicolas Rainville confirmed that the game would be abandoned.
French media have reported that the referee relayed: “The elements are conclusive, the player cannot resume the meeting because concussed.
“We have respected the rules, namely that the match will not resume.”

Rodez confirmed the decision on its official Twitter account as it wrote: “Following the decision of the LFP, the match is officially interrupted and will not resume.”
Meanwhile, the Bordeaux account tweeted: “It’s official. Mr Nicolas Rainville announced that the match #FCGBRAF will not resume.”
The LFP have released a statement on the incident confirming that a disciplinary committee will meet on Monday to discuss it.
A statement read: “Following the attack on the player Lucas Buades de Rodez by a supporter from the Bordeaux stand, the Bordeaux-Rodez meeting was officially stopped by the referee and the LFP delegates.
“The LFP disciplinary commission will meet on Monday to study the follow-up.
“The LFP strongly condemns this act of violence against a player and wishes a speedy recovery to Lucas Buades.”
It cut both of the club’s seasons short as they were facing off in their last matches of the Ligue 2 campaign.
Bordeaux will finish 3rd in the second division of French football, while Rodez finished 17th.
