EX-SOCCER star Jen Munoz is taking social media by storm.
The California-born athlete, 26, retired three years after turning pro to forge a successful career as a sports media personality.
Munoz was born in Los Angeles on November 4, 1996.
Just like her hero, Paris Saint-Germain star Leo Messi, she spent a huge part of her life on the soccer field.
Jen missed school dances and other “stuff that normal kids usually do” as she devoted herself to the sport, the California native told Untold Athletes.
But her sacrifices paid off.
Munoz lettered four years in soccer — and three years in track and field — at Capistrano Valley High School.
The five-foot-three midfielder then played Division 1 soccer for the University of New Mexico while studying business and marketing.
Toward the end of her senior year, she received an offer to play for the professional Mexican side Club America.
Munoz ended up spending over two years at Estadio Azteca after graduation.

During her time in Mexico City, she even managed to make her international debut for the Mexico women’s national team.
But Jen hang up her cleats in 2021 as her passion for the sport started to fade away — and because she really missed her family and LA, she told Urban Pitch.
As Munoz began transitioning into sports media, she signed up for a Survivor-type show titled Exatlon.
The ex-soccer star nearly drowned during one underwater challenge — which she still ended up finishing after being rescued.
In her first post-retirement sports media gig, Jen covered Los Angeles FC for 110 Sport’s show called Angels Wear Boots.
She then started creating content for the women’s soccer site ATA Football and became a host for the Concacaf soccer federation.
Munoz has also been posting lots of glam snaps and workout videos, growing a huge audience on her social media platforms.
The rising sports media star now boasts over 270,000 followers on Instagram, 250,000 on TikTok, and 77,000 on Twitter.
