Rice enters the final year of his contract this summer but West Ham do have the option to extend by a further year.

The Hammers captain produced another dominant midfield performance during Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Leeds and topped it off with his fifth goal of the season.

But eagle-eyed West Ham fans were left heartbroken by what his brother appeared to say to Moyes.

Fans on Twitter believed they could see Declan’s brother mouth “final game” as he engaged in conversation with the manager.

Other fans also thought they noticed a difference in Rice’s demeanour during the match.

In a video posted on Twitter, Rice appeared to be savouring the final moments of Sunday’s clash with Leeds, looking up at the stands of the Olympic Stadium wistfully.

The fan who posted the video on Twitter captioned it “Don’t overthink it, don’t overthink it.”

But with Rice’s contract entering its final year, and the midfielder refusing to sign a new deal, that’s exactly what West Ham fans will be doing.

The England midfielder is attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester United as well as reported European interest from Bayern Munich.

West Ham have set a price tag of £100 million for their captain.

Rice will be hoping to leave West Ham on a high after the team reached the Europa Conference League Final with a 1-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.

The Hammers will face off with Fiorentina in the Conference League final on June 7th in Prague.

Rice will aim to be the first West Ham captain to win a trophy for the club since Billy Bonds lifted the FA Cup at Wembley in 1980.
