Manny Pacquiao paying for medical costs of boxer, 22, who collapsed in the ring and was rushed to hospital after fight


MANNY PACQUIAO is paying the medical costs for a boxer who collapsed after a fight he promoted.

Kenneth Egano faced Jason Facularin in an eight-round bout in Cavite, Philippines, on Pacquiao’s “Blow by Blow” boxing event.

Sadly, Egano collapsed in the ring before the result was announced.

It was eventually confirmed he had won but by this time the 22-year-old had been rushed to hospital.

According to the Inquirer, Pacquiao told his staff to ensure Egano received all the medical attention he requires.

And Egano’s parents were also bought plane tickets by Pacquiao’s promotion to arrive at the hospital to see their son.

The legendary boxer said: “There is nothing more precious than human life.”

Egano remains at the City of Imus Doctors Hospital, where he underwent surgery, and has been joined by his trainer.

The bantamweight is now 7-1, with three knockouts while fell to his first defeat in five bouts.

Pacquiao laster said: “Boxing is truly a dangerous sport and the boxers deserve nothing but respect as they put their lives on the line.

Pacquiao, boxing’s only champion in eight weights, retired in August 2021 following defeat to Cuban Yordenis Ugas, 36.

But he returned in December for an exhibition bout and recently revealed he has another scheduled for July.
