Ex-Tottenham star offers himself up for Newcastle transfer live on Sky Sports leaving panel surprised

DANNY ROSE cheekily offered his services to Newcastle United during an appearance on Sky Sports this afternoon.

He has not played a single match since being frozen out by Watford halfway through last season.

At 32, he still seems to feel in decent nick though.

Appearing as a pundit on Sky Sports’ coverage of Newcastle vs Spurs, Rose chatted to Toon boss Eddie Howe pre-game.

At the conclusion of the interview, Rose asked Howe: “Do you need a third-choice left-back by any chance?”

Howe and Rose’s fellow pundit Kieron Dyer cracked up laughing.

The 29-cap former England defender left Spurs on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.

He subsequently signed for Watford, but would only make nine appearances for the Hornets before being ditched by Claudio Ranieri.

Dyer responded to Rose by joking: “I thought he wanted to be a sailor!”

This was in reference to the Leeds-born ace’s outfit, with Rose donning a black cap and jacket.

Dan Burn has been Newcastle’s regular starting left-back this season, with Matt Targett in reserve.

SunSport revealed this weekend that the Toon are confident of landing Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney in a £30million switch this summer.

Sources close to Tierney believe a summer Tyneside move is increasingly likely.

SunSport also revealed last month that Rose had been training with National League side York City.
