The players were so confident that they would win promotion that they agreed on a deal with their Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, according to the Daily Mail.

The deal meant that they would only get a bonus if they managed to get out of the fifth tier of English football.

And as a sweetener, if they did the bonus rewarded to the players would be bigger, with captain Ben Tozer said to have led the negotiations.

To seal their place back in the football league, Wrexham only need three more points from their remaining two games.

The two teams have battled for the entire season for the one automatic promotion spot in arguably the most thrilling, high-profile National League title race EVER.

It would be their first time back at the level since the club was relegated 2008.

The report suggests that the average wage at the club is about £1,000 per week and therefore would welcome the potential bonus of £20,000 per man.
