FORMER Southampton star Dusan Tadic has claimed there is a “pact” against Ajax among the other Eredivisie clubs.
The ex-Saints man has thrived in the Netherlands since moving from the south coast in 2018.
He has claimed three league titles and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
But the 36-time Dutch champions are playing catch-up this season as they sit five points adrift of table-toppers Feyenoord.
And Tadic has claimed all the other teams in the Eredivisie dislike Ajax because of their success.
Speaking to MozzartSport, he said: “Only our team was much stronger in previous years, so we could carry that burden more easily.

“People love Ajax or hate us. There is a lot of frustration because of the size of the club and because we win a lot of trophies.
“It is comparable to Bayern Munich in Germany. People wait for you to lose so they can make fun of you. This is all normal and only shows the size of the club.
“It is the hardest for Ajax to become champions because the other clubs have a pact to compete against our club.
“That’s why every mosquito is turned into an elephant. They try to bring unrest to the team in all kinds of ways.”

Despite the comments, Tadic went on to insist the supposed hatred towards Ajax does not bother him.
He added: “No, it doesn’t affect me. It’s a compliment that people can’t stand Ajax’s success.
“That has always been the case, only before we gave them less room for such things because we won more.
“As soon as you lose or draw, you know you who attack. Every year we win titles and every year I am the MVP of the Eredivisie.
“The latter will also be the case this year. I know who I am and just move on.”
Tadic has contributed 102 goals and 110 assists in 233 appearances for Ajax.
And he was the Eredivisie top scorer in the 2020-21 season with 14 league goals.
