MANCHESTER UNITED icon Denis Irwin appeared glum as he went on a leisurely stroll through the park earlier this week after missing out on a place in the Premier League Hall of Fame.
The former defender was snubbed from the 2023 Hall of Fame shortlist last week despite his legendary status.
Many Man Utd fans were left furious with his omission and took to Twitter to share their collective outrage.
One person tweeted: “How Denis Irwin has not been nominated for a place in the Premier League Hall of Fame is laughable. He’s one of, if not the best full-back the league has ever seen. The most underrated player I swear.”
Another added: “Dear @PremierLeague if you’re doing this Hall Of Fame thing and Denis Irwin isn’t in there as full-back then you’re not doing it properly.”
While a third said: “Scandalous how Denis Irwin has been overlooked for the Premier League Hall of Fame.

“He’s up there as one of the best full backs in Premier League history. Outrageous some of the names put ahead of him.”
United legend, and former teammate of Irwin’s, Gary Neville also claimed that the ex-Ireland international should have been named on the shortlist.
He tweeted: “Denis is the best full back in PL history! Fact.”
Irwin won seven Premier League titles, three FA Cups and one Champions League title during his 12-year stint at Old Trafford.
