John Terry blasts ‘lazy’ Chelsea fan for talking ‘nonsense’ amid talk of club legend joining Frank Lampard’s team

JOHN TERRY has lashed out at a ‘lazy’ Chelsea fan and accused the supporter of talking ‘nonsense’.

It came amid talk of JT joining Frank Lampard’s coaching team at Stamford Bridge.

There have been murmurs that the former centre-back could be drafted in to assist Lampard, but one fan was not keen on the idea.

They said: “Delighted that Lamps is back and excited by the back room appointments. But please don’t add JT (John Terry) to that list.

“Club legend but too much golf and not enough coaching experience to warrant inclusion. We’re past the days of barrack-room bombast.”

Terry was moved to defend his record, which included being assistant manager at Aston Villa, by blasting: “Lazy comment. I have all my coaching badges to coach at the TOP LEVEL in the game.

“Spent three years at Villa and WON PROMOTION to the Premier League, improved players and individuals year after year.

“Oh and played at the top level under some of the best managers in the game for 17 years.”

Terry wasn’t finished there, returning to social media again to post: “Also unbelievable news for everyone at Chelsea to have lamps back.

‘I know how this works, Frank has his team and if I went into a job I would have mine. I won’t have people talk nonsense.

“Lamps is the best player in our history and this is just what we needed. Super Frank.”

Terry also found time to wish his old team-mate well following his shock return to Stamford Bridge.

Lampard, 44, was appointed caretaker manager until the end of the season on Thursday.

Terry and Lampard spent 13 years together at Stamford Bridge, winning three Premier League titles and the Champions League alongside each other.

The pair are also third and fourth respectively on Chelsea’s list of all-time record appearance holders.

And after the Blues confirmed Lampard had been named caretaker boss until the end of the season, Terry, 42, wrote on Twitter: “Good luck mate.”

He later posted a picture of Lampard holding the Champions League trophy and wrote: “Good luck Lamps @ChelseaFC.”

Terry’s well wishes came after he revealed the only manager’s job he’d take would be at Stamford Bridge.

He recently admitted in an interview with snooker legend Stephen Hendry on YouTube: “I’m done from a managerial point of view.

“The only job I’d come out of retirement for would be the Chelsea job, to be involved in some capacity in the first team.”

Terry returned to Chelsea in December 2021 to begin a coaching consultancy role at the Academy.

Meanwhile Lampard, who managed Chelsea from 2019-2021, was announced as caretaker boss this week while the Blues search for a permanent successor to Graham Potter.

And the Blues icon even hinted he could stay on at Stamford Bridge permanently.

Chelsea are said to have a shortlist of at least seven coaches, with free agents Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique both in talks.

Former Spain gaffer Enrique jetted to London to meet with the club this week.
