‘The man is shook’ – Arsenal fans fume at Ten Hag after Man Utd manager calls Arteta’s men lucky this season

ARSENAL fans have slammed Erik ten Hag after the Manchester United boss commented on the Gunners’ lack of injuries.

Mikel Arteta’s men are flying high at the top of the Premier League table, five points ahead of defending champions Manchester City and a further 11 in front of Man Utd.

But Ten Hag did argue during a press conference on Wednesday that his team have been hampered with injuries in a way Arsenal have not.

Speaking ahead of their Europa League last-16 second leg against Real Betis, he said: “When you see the whole season, we had some setbacks, also some shortages of players.

“But every time we dealt with it and it’s about the players who are available and every time there was a team on the pitch.

“But what is true is I think, till now, we had only one game when we had a squad available totally. One game where I could say, ‘okay now I can pick my team [only] for a tactical approach’ and that was perfect. It was against Man City at home. It was the only time in this season.

“At other times, in every game we had one player suspended, one player is injured, or has illness so we have to deal with it now.

“Of course, you hope it is like Arsenal. Almost all the time, their squad is total available.”

Ten Hag’s comments have angered the Arsenal faithful – who were quick to point out the various players that have been unavailable during their campaign.

Reacting on social media, one person said: “Jesus out for 3 months. Smith Rowe out for 7 months. Zinchenko missed a month. Partey has missed 5 games. KT [Kieran Tierney] has been injured. Tomiyasu has been injured. Reiss [Nelson] has been injured. Elneny has been injured
Ntekiah injured.

“Man Utd please talk to your manager. Selective memory.”

Another added: “Tell me you’ve never watched Arsenal without telling me 🙄.”

And a third replied: “Bad vibes from ETH. The man is shook.”

Arsenal welcomed back forward Gabriel Jesus on Sunday after three months on the sidelines.

The Brazilian, 25, has been out of action since returning from the World Cup, but made a substitute appearance in the 3-0 win over Fulham.
