He won the fight by split decision with two out of the three judges scoring 76-73 in his favour.

And once the celebrations had calmed down, he took time to reflect on the sacrifices he made in the months and weeks leading up to the bout.

Fury told Queensberry Promotions: “The last two-and-a-half years I’ve had hell.

“I can’t walk outside my house [without hearing] ‘Jake Paul is going to beat you up’. ‘Jake Paul is going to smash you’. ‘You’ll never box again’.

“‘You’re scared’. ‘You’ve backed out twice’. I’ve had that for two-and-a-half years.

“You know, this camp I’ve sacrificed everything.

“My little girl was born three weeks ago. I left straight away back into training camp.

“I’ve not even spent any time with her. And this is for her tonight.

“I know it’s not a world title fight. It’s not for any major titles, but it meant a lot to me.”

Fury’s daughter, Bambi, was born at the end of January.

And the Manchester-born boxer paid tribute to her ahead of his bout with social media superstar Paul.

As he entered the arena, Fury donned a robe bearing his baby girl’s name and a blue butterfly while accompanied by his trainers, brother Tyson and father John Fury.
