‘Very odd’ – Gary Neville thinks the Glazers dropped major hint they’re STAYING at Man Utd after latest move

PUNDIT Gary Neville believes that the Glazers have dropped a hint they are staying at Manchester United despite putting the club up for sale.

Yesterday, the club announced it was increasing the price of season tickets for the next campaign, the first time they have done so in 11 years.

Neville previously said he thought the current owners would not leave entirely and that they just want to lower their stake in the club.

He claims his theory is backed up by the season ticket news and he is baffled as to why the Glazer family would implement a price hike if they were going to quit soon anyway.

Neville tweeted: “The increase to ticket prices at United is very odd.

“Why would a seller that’s leaving before the next season introduce something that has brought them more hate and they won’t benefit from.

“Any new buyer would most likely freeze the price in year one to stay on side with fans.

“It does beg the question whether they are really going. I have my doubts with actions like this one.”

The season ticket increase by five per cent has left fans raging, with some labelling chiefs as “parasites”.

The news came soon after the club’s share price soared and while fans fight the cost of living crisis.

Man Utd are up for sale with one of Britain’s richest men Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani in the running to buy the team.

The Glazers are demanding a whopping fee of £6billion.

Yet they have supposedly been offered the financial backing to stay in charge by US huge fund giants Elliott Management.

The New York-based business has reportedly entered the takeover race and offered a cash injection, not an outright bid to buy the whole of Man Utd.
