The England striker scored only five goals last season but already has 21 in this campaign, and opened the scoring against Leeds on Sunday.

That was Rashford’s fourth headed goal of the season, and fans have noticed a marked improvement from the 25-year-old.

And many believe one man is responsible for the turnaround – Benni McCarthy.

The former Blackburn striker joined the club as a coach last summer and has been tasked with getting the best out of United’s attackers.

Ian Wright hailed McCarthy’s impact on Match of the Day 2 while Ten Hag said he was “lucky” to have him.

United fans have also showered the coach with compliments for his impact on Rashford.

One supporter said: “Benni has done wonders with Rashford.”
