Despite scoring twice in the exhibition match against Paris Saint-Germain, Ronaldo has yet to open his official account.

And his bad start in the Middle East has gotten even worse after he appeared to sustain an injury.

Ronaldo was spotted hobbling off the pitch after the game, indicating his ankle had taken a knock following a challenge from second-half substitute Hamdan Al-Shamrani.

Prior to this, Ronaldo missed a big chance in the first half, leading to criticism from manager Rudi Garcia.

Garcia said: “One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano’s missed opportunity in the first half.

“I congratulate Al-Ittihad. They presented a much better first half than us, and we played a good second half, but unfortunately we were not able to adjust the result.

“It’s true that we regret losing the Super Cup, but we are still the first in the league.”

The former Manchester United star’s game was slighted even more by rival fans taunting Ronaldo with chants of “Messi, Messi, Messi”.
