Pep Guardiola ‘REJECTS Brazil job after Ronaldo contacts Man City chief over replacing axed Tite after World Cup’


PEP GUARDIOLA has rejected a job offer from Brazil, according to reports.

The South Americans are on the lookout for a new manager after Tite left at the end of the World Cup.

Brazil were beaten on penalties by Croatia in a shock quarter-final exit, with Tite stepping down shortly afterwards.

Brazil wanted Guardiola to replace the 61-year-old and legendary striker Ronaldo contacted his agent Pere to see if he would be interested, report The Mirror.

But the approach has been snubbed with Guardiola keen to continue in his role at the Etihad.

Reports also claimed Guardiola was offered a £10million-a-year contract by Brazil last summer.

The Spaniard penned a contract extension in November that will keep him at Manchester City until 2024.

However Guardiola, 51, did reveal his next step will be international management and he hinted at a move to Brazil.

He said: “The next step will be a national team, yes, if there’s a chance.

“I must have a break after seven years (at City), I need to stop to watch, learn from other players and maybe that is the road I will take.

Brazil will now turn their attention to other targets but are reportedly open to appointing a foreign manager for the first time since 1944.
