Ukraine agent slams Shakhtar Donetsk for pricing Mykhailo Mudryk out of Arsenal or Chelsea transfer as saga rages on

A UKRANIAN agent has criticised Shakhtar Donetsk for pricing Mykhailo Mudryk out of a potential deal to Arsenal or Chelsea.

The winger is split over joining the London rivals, who are involved in an intense battle for his signature.

Arsenal are currently in pole position with Mudryk reportedly stating that he wants to move to the Emirates.

But the Gunners have seen their first two bids rejected.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are trying to hijack the deal with Mudryk’s agents in London this week to undergo talks with both clubs.

And director of football Darijo Srna was at Stamford Bridge for the Blues’ game with Manchester City on Thursday.

But Shakhtar are asking for £88m.

And agent Igor Kryvenko reckons the Ukrainian side need to lower their price or a January deal will be almost impossible.

Kryvenko told Footboom: “Shakhtar won’t let Mudryk go for the money they are currently offering. €100m is an inadequate price.”

“A player from the Ukrainian championship cannot cost more than, for example, a player from the Netherlands.

“You have to look at things realistically.

“There is a market value, and Shakhtar seem to be taking figures from the ceiling.

“The guy is in the golden cage. I know for sure that in the summer, Brentford offered good money for Mudryk, but the Donetsk team refused.

“It seems as if they want to reflect on their talent everything that they lost in the past failed transfers.”

Mudryk hasn’t played competitively since November with the Ukrainian Premier League currently on a winter break.

But prior to the pause, the 22-year-old had been involved in 18 goals in 18 appearances, highlighting exactly why he’s such hot property this month.
