WIGAN ATHLETIC are ready to stun football with a shock move to make Kolo Toure their new boss
Owner Talal Al Hammad has flown into London to finalise the appointment of the Ivory Coast international who is currently coach at Leicester City.
Kolo is keen to be a boss in his own right and would be an eye catching arrival for Latics who let Leam Richardson go.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool defender has cut his teeth with Brendan Rodgers but is expected to branch out on his own.
It will be a massive coup for Wigan and also historic as Kolo, 41, would be the first African international to manage in English senior football.
Kolo may work with the existing staff but is likely to want a sidekick to come with him.
